6 Ways To Get In The Christmas Spirit In Hayes Valley This WeekPhoto: GPS/Flickr

With the holidays just a few days away, Hayes Valley offers plenty to get you in the festive mood, from a gingerbread party to movie screenings, a holiday show and more.

Head to KitTea's gingerbread party this Sunday, where you can participate in a gingerbread workshop with a kitten on your lap (yes, you read that right).

At Davies Symphony Hall, you can choose between two Christmas-themed movies to watch while the San Francisco Symphony performs live. Watch a snowman that comes to life in the short film The Snowman, or enjoy the Peanuts sing Christmas carols in A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Back at the Herbst Theatre is Cinderella, a holiday show presented by the African-American Shakespeare Company. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids, they can also join a photo opportunity with the cast after the performance.

Last but not least, you can also listen to some seasonal favorites like Silent Night performed by the five female vocalists from Sweet Honey in the Rock. And, of course, there's always the San Francisco Ballet's annual "Nutcracker" tradition, which runs through Dec. 29th, with two performances on Christmas Eve.
