The SFPD has made arrests in two separate homicides that occurred December 29th in the Mission and Tenderloin.

Mission District Stabbing

The department confirms that 40-year-old San Francisco resident Nathan Bracy has been arrested in connection to the killing of 38-year-old Matthew Faime on the 200 block of Valencia Street.

Despite previous reports of a shooting, the SFPD now reports that officers responded to a call of a stabbing at 6:20pm and found Faime suffering from several stab wounds. The victim died at San Francisco General Hospital.

The suspect was arrested around 2:30am January 1st at Polk and Pine streets. He was booked into county jail and charged with murder.

Update, 1/5: The Examiner confirms that the original suspect in this case, Nathan Bracy, was released from custody Tuesday, January 3rd, after investigators were able to confirm his alibi.

Tenderloin Shooting

The SFPD also confirms that 29-year-old Stockton resident Elian Abdallah has been arrested in connection to the shooting in the Tenderloin that killed 29-year-old San Francisco resident Laurice Barrett.

At 5:14pm responding officers found Barrett suffering from gunshot wounds on the 200 block of Golden Gate. Paramedics rendered aid, but Barrett later died of his injuries at San Francisco General.

Homicide investigators identified the suspect and made the arrest in Oakland around 5:15pm the following day. Abdallah was booked into county jail and charged with murder.

Despite the arrests, investigators are still seeking information from the public on both cases. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 415-575-4444 or texting TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
