This Sunday, on the steps of San Francisco City Hall, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will be holding a rally to advocate for the preservation of the Affordable Care Act and funding for Medicaid and Planned Parenthood.

The event will be part of a national series of "Our First Stand" rallies organized by Pelosi and Senators Bernie Sanders and Chuck Schumer. It starts at 1pm, and attendees can RSVP at Go.BernieSanders.com.

According to Pelosi's deputy press secretary, Jorge Aguilar, the Congresswoman will discuss the importance of preserving the Affordable Care Act, as well as protecting programs that face cuts in federal funding from a GOP-controlled White House and Congress, including Planned Parenthood, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. She will also thank President Obama for his efforts to expand healthcare access.

Aguilar told us that many of the event's other details have yet to be finalized, including additional speakers and whether or not a march will be held after the rally. (He also could not comment on whether Pelosi will be a part of any events or demonstrations surrounding President-Elect Trump's inauguration next Friday.)

However, the event listing on Bernie Sanders' website has recently been updated to note that Pelosi's fellow Californian House Reps. Anna Eshoo, Mike Thompson, Zoe Lofgren, Eric Swalwell and Ro Khanna will also be in attendance.

According to the map on Sanders' website, this rally is the only such event planned in the Bay Area. Other rallies are set for Sacramento and Los Angeles, as well as roughly two dozen other cities across the U.S.

We'll let you know as we receive more information from Pelosi's office, but if you're interested in attending, mark your calendar for Sunday at 1pm.
