San Francisco police have arrested an Oakland resident in connection to the shooting homicide yesterday at the intersection of Eddy Street and Van Ness Avenue.

As we previously reported, officers responded to the report of a vehicle collision at 2:15am yesterday and found a victim suffering from a head injury, which investigators quickly realized was a gunshot wound.

According to the SFPD, investigators from the department's Special Investigations Division, Gang Task Force and Night Investigation Unit arrested 37-year-old Oakland resident Dontae Allen around 11:30pm yesterday, February 15th—less than 12 hours after launching the investigation. Allen was arrested in Oakland and booked at the San Francisco County Jail on a murder charge.

The victim, who died at the scene, has been identified as 34-year-old Preston Bradford, a San Francisco resident. According to the Examiner, investigators believe Bradford and Allen knew each other, and Allen may have been a passenger in the car—based on the trajectory of the two gunshot wounds Bradford sustained.

Although an arrest has been made, the department is asking anyone with further information on this shooting to contact the SFPD Anonymous Tip Line at (415) 575-4444, or text TIP411 and start the message with "SFPD."
