Loló Cevichería, A Ceviche Hotspot, Shutters In The MissionPhoto: Loló Cevicheria/Facebook

Loló Cevichería, the sister restaurant to Loló on Valencia, has vacated its colorful outpost on 22nd Street. The family-owned establishment, known for its Mexican and Peruvian-inspired dishes, shuttered earlier this month due to "failed negotiations with the landlord," Inside Scoop reports

The "lease just came to an end," said owner Jorge Martinez, who headed the venture alongside wife Lorena “Loló” Zertuche.

Loló Cevichería was housed in the original location of Loló, which moved to a bigger and brighter space at 974 Valencia St. in 2014. Martinez and Zertuche did not originally plan to establish a second location, but getting the new Loló up and running left them with sufficient staff, so they decided to go for it.

The cevichería opened its doors in July 2014, offering a pared-down menu with five types of ceviche and a few original Loló favorites, like the tuna tacón and the taco tropical.

The owners are on the hunt for another location to house the cevichería. In the meantime, Loló on Valencia Street will continue to operate as usual.
