A San Francisco man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after shots were exchanged between people in vehicles in the city's Bayview District early this morning, according to police.

The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. in the area of Industrial Street and Bayshore Boulevard, police said.

The victim, a 48-year-old man, suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound, according to Bayview Station Capt. Raj Vaswani.

The suspects fled the scene and no arrests had been reported as of
this morning.

The incident closed the intersection of Bayshore and Industrial and also affected highway off-ramps in the area, Vaswani said.
