Multiple cars were involved in a collision this afternoon in Hayes Valley that reportedly caused one vehicle to jump the curb and strike a building. The female driver of that vehicle was removed from the scene in an ambulance.

The incident occurred around 4:45pm. According to Brian W., a Hoodline reader who lives nearby, one of the drivers was attempting to turn left from Laguna onto Fell when the crash occurred.

Brian said he initially heard a "giant" crash, "and a couple more after that as the car hit the corner of the building," home to Mazzat Lebanese restaurant.

Although the corner of Fell and Laguna isn't part of the city's High Injury Network—the 12 percent of streets where 70 percent of collisions occur—today's collision took a few hundred feet from Webster Street and Octavia Street, which are both considered part of the network.

It would have been "extremely scary if someone had been on the corner waiting to cross," said Brian.

Adil, an employee at Mazzat Lebanese, said he didn't see the crash, but the woman driving the car that struck his building "seemed to be injured."

"Fell Street is one way, and there's a red light in both directions, so it's not really a dangerous intersection," he said.
