It's nearing the end of the month, which means it's time for another look at crime in SFPD's Central District, which includes Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach, and Union Square.

Here are some of the incidents that have taken place since our last roundup. Unless otherwise noted, all reports are based on information from SFPD.

Argument ends in stabbing

On June 15th, just before 11am,  a man in his mid-to-late 20s and another man, 33, got into an argument over some property on the 400 block of Sutter Street in Union Square. The victim grabbed a pipe and attempted to hit the younger man. The suspect then brandished a folding knife and stabbed him in the arm. The victim was transported to a hospital in non-life threatening condition. 

Two men assaulted after argument

Over in North Beach, on the 1000 block of Columbus Ave., a 45-year-old man and a 25-year-old man got into an argument with an employee at a business at 2am, June 14th. Two other men in their 30s approached the two, who were fighting, and assaulted them. Both suspects suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. 

Pipe-wielding thief snags man's wheelchair 

A man, 54, was struck with a pipe by an unknown suspect on the 200 block of Powell Street at 2am, June 12th. The victim was lying on the ground when the suspect approached him, hit him with the pipe and then fled with the victim's belongings. He suffered a laceration to his forehead and was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. During the attack, the victim lost cash and a wheelchair. 

Woman robbed while exiting vehicle

A woman, 20, was robbed by two suspects in their 20s on the 300 block of Chestnut Street in North Beach just before 2am, June 12th. As the victim parked and exited her car, the two suspects ran up to her and purloined her backpack before fleeing on foot. 

Argument quickly turns violent 

On the corner of Geary and Powell Streets in Union Square a man, 47, got into an argument with another man, 30,  at 3pm, June 10th. The argument quickly escalated and the suspect eventually punched the victim. The victim later was taken to a hospital for treatment for minor, non-life threatening injuries. 

Woman robbed at gunpoint

Just before midnight, June 9th, a 28-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by an unknown suspect in his early 20s on the 900 block of Pacific Avenue in Chinatown. As the victim was walking, the suspect approached from behind and pointed a pistol at her. He hit the victim's cell phone out of her hand and also lost her ID and cards. The suspect absconded with the loot, heading northbound on Mason Street in an unknown car. 

Hot prowler nabs bike 

Some time between 10 – 11am on June 8th, a hot prowl burglary occurred on the 1900 block of Leavenworth Street in Russian Hill. The victim, a 75-year-old woman, went into her garage and found that a bicycle was missing. She told police that she may have heard a noise between the hours indicated, but no suspect was identified. 

Man apprehends hot prowl burglar

A 29-year-old man was at home in his room on the 2000 block of Jones Street in Russian Hill at 2:20pm, June 7th, and heard a loud noise outside. When he checked the backyard, he could hear the noises coming from the laundry room. Upon further inquiry, he caught the suspect, a 49-year-old man, and was able to hold him there until police arrived and took him into custody.
