With San Francisco Pride this weekend, Oakland is offering merrymakers and party-seekers a wide range of related festivities.

Visitor and locals seeking a change of scene from San Francisco venues will find plenty of options on the Bright Side of the Bay, including a comedy showcase at White Horse Bar, a documentary at The Piedmont about trans activist Marsha P. Johnson, and a Robyn drag party on Sunday night.

This weekend also marks the end of Ramadan, a holy month for Muslims marked by prayers and fasting. The Islamic Center of Northern California is holding a community breakfast event for Eid al-Fitr —the holiday's official end—on Sunday at 9am.
