SFFD is asking residents near Crocker Amazon Playground to remain indoors and keep their windows closed as firefighters work to put out a 2-3 acre grass fire.
The shelter in place order was issued around 1:25pm and includes John McLaren School, which adjoins the park. No injuries have been reported, but the blaze is reported to be near several homes.
Smoke is visible as far away as Brisbane; drivers are encouraged to avoid the area to keep streets clear for emergency vehicles.
We'll continue to update this story as it develops.
