We've rounded up some recent incidents from the SoMa neighborhood since our last recap. Unless otherwise noted, all reports are taken from the SFPD blotter from the last two weeks. 

Woman Arrested In Kidnapping

As Hoodline reported yesterday, an infant girl was kidnapped from her father’s car on Sunday by a 36-year-old female suspect near Victoria Manolo Draves Park on Sherman Street at 8:36am.

The suspect fled on a Muni bus and was located by officers near Bayshore and Arleta and taken into custody. The victim has been reunited with her parents. 

Victim Holds Assault Suspect For Police

On July 17th at 3:23am on the 700 Block of Market, a 43-year-old man was told to leave a place of business; when he refused, a physical altercation happened between him and a 38-year-old employee.

Police say the suspect injured the victim, who continued to hold on to the suspect until the police arrived on the scene and arrested him. The victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Woman Jumped In Bathroom

A 21-year-old female victim was assaulted by multiple suspects in the restroom of a business on July 16th at 8:10pm on the 1000 Block of Harrison Street.

The report states that 3–5 unknown female suspects attacked the victim in the bathroom, using their fists. The victim lost consciousness and was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries and no arrest was made in the attack. 

Late-night Armed Robbery On Harrison 

On the 900 Block of Harrison Street, two victims were robbed at gunpoint at 2:27am on July 9th. The victims, a 23-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, were walking down Harrison Street when the female victim fell.

Two suspects, both men 20-30 years old, pulled up next to the victims in a vehicle. One of the suspects stepped out of the vehicle and brandished a gun, demanding their property. After the victims complied, the suspect returned to his car and fled westbound on Harrison Street. No arrest has been made in the robbery. 

Armed Robbery At Mission St. Store 

On July 8th, a 61-year-old victim was robbed in a business on the 1000 Block of Mission by two unknown suspects at 10:52pm.

The suspects entered the business, pointed a gun at a male employee and demanded money from the register. The victim complied and the suspects fled on foot. The amount of money taken has not been reported, and no arrest has been made.

Man Injured In Early-morning Mugging

At 6:30am on July 8th, a 31-year-old man was injured during a robbery on the 900 Block of Harrison Street. The suspects—two men of unknown age—confronted the victim and demanded his belongings.

The victim refused to give up his property, and a scuffle ensued, after which the suspects fled on foot with the man's bag and money. The victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Man Robbed and Assaulted 

At 9th and Mission streets, a 57-year-old man was robbed and assaulted at 5:20am on July 7th. The report states that the man received non-life threatening injuries after a 46-year-old male suspect approached him and demanded his property.

The suspect punched the victim after he refused to comply before grabbing the man's cellphone and fleeing on foot. The suspect was later arrested by police.

Man Loses Consciousness After Robbery 

 A 50-year old man transported himself to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being assaulted and robbed near McAllister and 7th streets on July 6th.

The incident took place around 10:00am when a suspect between 45 and 55 years old assaulted the victim and fled northbound on 7th Street towards Market. The victim lost consciousness for an unknown amount of time and awakened to realize money had been taken from his rear pocket. No arrest has been made.

Man Assaulted With Cane After Intervening In Argument

On July 7th at 3:36pm, a 48-year-old man was assaulted with a cane at 6th and Mission Streets. According to the report, a male suspect of unknown age was arguing with an unidentified female when the victim intervened.

The suspect then struck the victim with his cane and fled westbound on Mission Street. The victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, and no arrest was made.
