Here's a recap of notable crimes that have occurred in the neighborhood since our last roundup. Unless otherwise noted, all details come from SFPD reports.

Five Assailants Strike Man With Bat 

Around 1:00am on July 28th, a 27-year-old man was walking with a friend near the intersection of Turk and Jones streets when they were approached by five men.

One of the suspects hit the victim with a bat, causing him to fall to the ground. The five men kicked the victim before fleeing on foot. None of the suspects have been identified.

Man Fatally Shot Near Turk And Taylor 

As we reported earlier this week, a 42-year-old man was fatally shot near the intersection of Turk and Taylor streets around 9:38pm on July 25th. The incident remains under investigation. 

Skateboarder Steals Woman’s Bus Fare

A 54-year-old woman was standing at a bus stop near the intersection of O’Farrell and Shannon streets around 6:40am on July 25th, when a man said to be in his early twenties grabbed her bus fare out of her hand.

There was a struggle, and the suspect threw the victim to the ground before fleeing on a skateboard. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Two Injured In Separate Tenderloin Stabbings

As we reported, there were two stabbings within hours of each other on the night of July 21st and morning of July 22nd. 

A 41-year-old man received life-threatening injuries in an attack around 2:46am on July 22nd on the corner of Larkin and Myrtle when another man pushed him to the ground and stabbed him in the stomach. The victim walked into a hospital with what were said to be life-threatening injuries. 

Less than four hours earlier, around 11:20pm on July 21st, a 46-year-old woman was in an argument with another woman, said to be in her fifties, near the intersection of Turk and Hyde streets. The older woman stabbed the victim, causing her to be hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in either case.

Man Arrested After Milk Crate Attack

Around 10:50pm on July 20th, a 48-year-old man and a 51-year-old man began arguing at 25 Mason Street (near Market). The younger man hit the victim with a milk crate and was taken into custody. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

Conversation Turns To Five-on-one Robbery

Five male suspects approached a 28-year-old man around 9:40pm on July 20th near the intersection of 5th and Market streets. The five suspects tried to engage the man in conversation.

The victim tried to run away, but he fell and was attacked by the five men who stole his wallet, money and phone before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Man Punched In Head, Robbed, Near 6th & Natoma

Just after midnight on July 20th, a 57-year-old man was walking near the intersection of 6th and Natoma streets when two men said to be in their late twenties walked up and demanded he hand over his property.

When the victim refused, one suspect reached into his pocket and stole his wallet while the second man punched him in the head. Both suspects fled on foot and the victim walked home, later reporting the incident to police.

Samaritan Injured After Intervening In Quarrel

Just before 9:30pm on July 19th, a 42-year old man was pushed to the ground and injured when he intervened in an argument between a man and his girlfriend inside a business on the 400 block of Ellis Street (near Jones).

The man and his girlfriend both fled the scene and the intervenor was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Two Muggers Target Man Near 8th & Market

A 40-year-old man was standing on the corner of 8th and Market streets just after midnight on July 19th when two men said to be in their early twenties approached him, pushed him against a wall, and stole his cellphone, wallet and ID. The suspects fled south on Market and have not been identified. 

Gunpoint Robbery Near Larkin & O’Farrell

At 11:30pm on July 18th, a 27-year-old man walking eastbound on Larkin Street was approached by a man near the intersection with O’Farrell Street. The suspect put his hands on the victim's shoulders, showed him a gun, and demanded his property.

The victim surrendered his cellphone, wallet, paycheck and watch, and was not injured. No arrest has been made. 

Man Attacked With Metal Pipe

At 10:05pm on July 18th, a 49-year-old man was attacked with a metal pipe near the intersection of Jones and Turk streets. The man was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect has not been identified.

10 Teens Rob Man Near 6th & Market

Ten males said to be between 14 and 20 years old approached a 36-year-old man near the intersection of 6th and Market streets at 9:17pm on July 17th.

The suspects attacked the older man and took his wallet, phone and belt before fleeing the scene.

Woman Robbed Of Laptop Near 7th & Market

A 25-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and had her laptop stolen by a man said to be in his twenties at 8:15pm on July 17th near the intersection of 7th and Market streets. No arrest has been made. 

Man Attacked Mid-afternoon With Metal Chain

Around 12:45pm on July 14th, a 64-year-old man was walking behind a 38-year-old man on the 200 block of Turk Street (near Jones). The younger man turned suddenly and attacked the victim with a metal chain. The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was arrested 

The Tenderloin station is not hosting its usual monthly community meeting in July, but instead invites the neighborhood to join the officers for the National Night Out at Boeddeker Park on August 1 from 5-7pm.
