Police announced this morning that yesterday afternoon's shooting at Haight and Stanyan is still under investigation after a 28-year-old man was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Details on the shooting—which closed Haight between Stanyan and Shrader for more than two hours and redirected Muni traffic—remain vague, but two Twitter users said the shooting occurred near the McDonald's at the end of Haight Street.

It's unclear whether the incident will change the City Attorney's official stance on security at McDonald's, which has been given a clean pass for reducing police-related incidents at the long-troubled location now that the franchise is under new ownership.

On neighborhood message boards, some residents have questioned the success of Park Station's strategy announced two months ago that had officers maintain a higher profile near the Haight St. entrance to Golden Gate Park.

According to police, the initiative successfully diminished violent and drug-related activity in the area, but it's not clear whether that operation is ongoing.

At the time of this posting, representatives of the new Haight St. McDonald's franchisee have not responded to queries from Hoodline about the incident.
