Yesterday morning around 9:15am, an armed robber shot a man in the Western Addition after stealing his cellphone.
The 34-year-old victim was walking near Central and Turk streets when a car stopped. A 30-year-old man got out on the passenger side, pointed a handgun at him, and then robbed him of his cellphone.
As the victim ran away, his assailant opened fire, wounding him. Suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, the victim was driven to a hospital.
No arrests were made. Police are currently searching for the shooter and another person who was driving the car.
