A 60-year-old man was stabbed at a homeless shelter last night on the 500 block of 5th Street (and Bryant) in SoMa last night.

Although police did not name the shelter, the St. Vincent de Paul Society is located at 525 5th St. 

The incident occurred at 7:22pm, when a 50-year-old man reportedly stabbed the victim with a pair of scissors.

The suspect was detained by other residents and later arrested after police responded to the scene. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
