Just after midnight, a fire broke out in a single-family home in the Excelsior district. The blaze, which reached two alarms, displaced five people, but no injuries were reported.
The fire was contained by 12:40am, and the American Red Cross arrived on the scene to provide assistance.
According to Bay City News, two adjacent buildings sustained light damage; SFFD spokesman Lt. Jonathan Baxter said a total of 16 residents from three residences were impacted.
No word yet on the cause of the fire, but the matter is under investigation.
