An 80-year-old Sunset resident was assaulted yesterday morning after she came home and surprised three burglars who were at work inside her residence.

The incident occurred on the 1600 block of 24th Avenue around 11:20am; according to police, the male suspects tried to take her purse, but she “refused to let go of it” and “a struggle ensued.”

After absconding with her purse, phone and some money, the assailants fled the scene, leaving the victim with non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
