Here's an overview of notable incidents reported around the Castro since our last crime roundup.

All reports come from the SFPD's daily crime recaps, unless otherwise noted.

Store employees confront thieves, one arrested

On September 30th at 1:38am, a 39-year-old man and a 49-year-old man working at a store near 18th and Noe witnessed two male suspects, both in their 20s, stealing alcohol.

The employees followed the men out of the store and confronted them, leading to a physical altercation that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled on Noe Street, and one was later arrested.

Two victims found shot in vehicle in possible double homicide

On September 30th, around 9:31am, SFPD officers responded to a call to check on the well-being of two people in a car near Rayburn and 21st in Dolores Heights.

Police found an adult male and female suffering from gunshot wounds. While officers rendered aid, the victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

A gun was recovered as police investigated the incident, now considered a double homicide. 

According to Bay City News, the medical examiner's office identified the two victims as 20-year-old Susana Robles Desgarennes and 24-year-old Angel Raygoza. Both were San Francisco residents.

Hartford hot prowl

A 51-year-old man was the victim of a hot prowl burglary that occurred early on the morning of September 29th, between 1:30am and 5am. He awoke to find a laptop and phone missing from his residence near Hartford and 19th. A suspect was described as a male in his early 20s, although there is no mention in the police report of the victim encountering the suspect. 

Hot prowler steals multiple bicycles

Between 10pm on September 27th and 8am the next day, two men and two women, between 28 and 56 years of age, were all victims of a hot prowler in their building on 17th near Dolores. An unknown suspect entered the building's garage and stole at least three bicycles. Two police reports were filed and no arrest was made.

Early morning robbery with force

A 53-year-old man was walking near Market and Castro between midnight and 12:30am on September 25th when he was approached by another man in his early 20s, who began talking to him. The younger man pushed the older man down and went through the victim's pockets, stealing his phone and wallet. No arrest was made.

Argument ends in metal pipe attack

On September 23rd at 9:48am, two men, 25 and 26, got into a verbal argument near Market and Dolores. The younger man then chased the other man and hit him with a metal pipe before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest was made.
