A new cocktail bar and Italian spot, offering pizza and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Sherman Oaks, called Modo Mio Cucina Rustica, is located at 15013 Ventura Blvd.

The new spot—which has another location in Pacific Palisades—specializes in Northern Italian fare, "characterized by a lesser use of sauces and overall a lighter and healthier style of cooking," according to the business. 

On the menu, expect to see items like ravioli del mare, mosaico di pepperoni with roasted peppers, feta cheese, and sun dried tomatoes; penne al salmone with fresh salmon, vodka and tomatoes; spaghetti alle vongole with clams sautéed in white wine, garlic and onion; pizzas and more. 

Rounding out the menu are a variety of Italian desserts, like tiramisu and chocolate soufflé. 

With a 4.5-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, the new cocktail bar has been warmly received by patrons.

Allyssa M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 25th, said: "First time going to Modo Mio with friends, and we were very impressed! The atmosphere was intimate and relaxing, making it a great place to dine with your favorite people."

And Linda G. said: "I went to Modo Mio Sherman Oaks last night and was very happy to know they opened in my neighborhood! Great place and live music on Thursday nights. The food is exquisite! I love this place."
