A new Mediterranean and vegetarian spot, offering salad and more, has opened for business in the neighborhood. Located at 8320 W. 3rd St. in Beverly Grove, the fresh arrival is called Hummus Republic.

This new spot—which has another location in El Segundo—specializes in healthy Mediterranean fare like pitas, falafel, bowls and more. 

On the menu, expect to see pita wraps filled with a variety of protein options, like vegan "beef," grilled chicken shawarma, lemon chicken, and roast veggies. 

Guests can also customize bowls and salads with an array of ingredients, like rice pilaf, kale, Kalamata olives, hummus, roasted eggplant and more. 

There are a variety of sides on offer as well, like dolmades and street-style fries. (You can check out the full menu here.)

Hummus Republic has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.

Joseph S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 6th, said: "So happy they are open and in the neighborhood on W. 3rd Street! The falafel is ON POINT! Spicy harissa hummus, Kalamata olive hummus, and tons of veggies and the spicy tahini is off the charts."

Yelper Roman K. added: “Had a pita there the other day and it was OMG OMG OMG fantastic. Fresh, not soggy, and flavorful. My wife and I walked past it looking for a Thai restaurant but we decided to give it a try.”
