Two people were robbed and assaulted yesterday morning at 9th Avenue & Irving Street at 5:20am.

In the incident, a man and a woman, both 22 years old, were at a bus stop when three male suspects who were approximately 16, 12-13 and 18-21 years old surrounded them “and demanded their property.” After taking the victims’ cell phone, computers, a wallet and a backpack, the suspects walked to a waiting vehicle.

After the male victim gave chase, he was punched by the oldest suspect before all three perpetrators fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
