[Update: 3:02pm] SFFD's Twitter account now says five people were injured in this afternoon's fire at Mission Dolores Senior Apartments, but it's unclear whether anyone will be displaced.

In the meantime, the department is asking people to avoid the area; traffic delays are expected as firefighting equipment is removed from the area.

San Francisco firefighters extinguished a 2-alarm blaze in a Mission Dolores senior home this afternoon that left three people with injuries.

It's unclear when the incident started, but at 1:21 pm, SFFD reported that the fire was on the 7th floor of the Mission Dolores Senior Apartments at 1855 15th St.

Ten minutes later, the incident was escalated to a second alarm, which means additional units were dispatched after the initial call for service.

At 1:51pm, a post on the department's Twitter feed indicated that the fire has been contained, with subsequent updates reporting that three people suffered life-threatening injuries. The cause of the fire is unclear, and it's unknown whether any residents were displaced.
