'Dia De Los Puercos' Brings Mexican Fare To Boyle HeightsPhoto: Nicole G./Yelp

Hungry? A new neighborhood Mexican spot has you covered. Located at 2765 E Olympic Blvd. in Boyle Heights, the fresh arrival is called Dia De Los Puercos.

This new spot is East LA native chef Rick Garcia's second brick-and-mortar venture, featuring comfort food inspired by his grandmother. He has another location in West Covina.

The menu highlights a variety of street-food inspired fare, with many of the dishes featuring pork—in line with the restaurant's namesake ("Day of the Pork," a pun on the Mexican holiday "Dia de Los Muertos," or Day of the Dead).

Expect to see items like tacos with a choice of meat, topped with cabbage, onions, cilantro and guac salsa; "Darth Mariachi Tacos" with crispy pork belly and salsa roja, "Ese Borracho," an LA-style bacon-wrapped dog with grilled onion and cotija cheese; and "The Homie" burrito with hand cut fries, cotija, and two fried eggs. (You can check out the full menu here.)

There's just one review on Yelp thus far, which gives it five stars.

Patty L., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on October 13th, said: "Delicious tacos!! Rajas, carnitas, asada, and and al pastor all so good. The tortillas complete the flavor. Will definitely be back to try more."

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Dia De Los Puercos is open Monday–Saturday from 11am–9pm. (It's closed on Sunday.)
