A woman riding a Muni bus was hospitalized yesterday after she was assaulted by approximately 12 teenagers.

The incident occurred at 4:05pm near the intersection of Eddy Street and Van Ness Avenue when a 45-year-old woman who was riding a bus “with about a dozen juvenile suspects” got off the vehicle to make a transfer.

While crossing the street, a male suspect approximately 15 or 16 years old threw a tennis ball that struck the victim. Shortly after that, a female suspect approximately the same age hit her “with an unknown object.”

The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests were made in the case.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
