Here's a roundup of notable crimes reported in the Tenderloin since our last edition. All details are drawn from SFPD daily reports, unless otherwise noted. 

Man punched, robbed by three men 

At 9:00pm on November 13th, an 18-year-old man near the intersection of Leavenworth and Turk streets was punched and robbed by three men said to be in their early twenties.

The victim lost his iPhone, drivers license, and credit cards. 

Woman hit with gun when exiting store

A 28-year-old woman exiting a store on the 1000 block of Market Street (near 6th) around 2:50pm on November 13th, was hit with a gun by a man said to be 41 years old.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspect remains at large. 

Argument leads to stabbing

Around 2:15am on November 12th, a 45-year-old man and a man said to be 25 years old started fighting on the 400 block of Leavenworth (at Ellis).

When the older man approached the younger man with a stick, the younger man pulled out a knife and cut him. The suspect fled on foot and has not been detained. 

Police apprehend mugger, return victim's property

A 40-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Turk and Jones streets at 5:00pm on November 11th when a 31-year-old man came up from behind and punched him, causing him to fall.

While the victim was on the ground the suspect went through his pockets, stole his phone and wallet, and fled. Police later located the suspect and recovered the victim’s property. 

Bike robbery at knifepoint

At 7:45pm on November 6th, a man walked up to a 29-year-old man on the 800 block of Market Street (near 4th) holding a knife and demanded the victim’s bicycle.

The suspect fled with the bike and has not been identified. 

Burglar cuts screen, steals woman’s laptop

A 22-year-old woman heard a noise outside her apartment on the 500 block of Ellis Street (near Leavenworth) around midnight on November 6th.

When she looked outside and saw a man said to be in his twenties on the fire escape, she realized that her window screen was cut and her laptop had been stolen.

Men shot near Powell St. BART

Two men were walking on the 100 block of Eddy street (near Powell) around 10:15pm on November 3rd when an unknown suspect started shooting at them.

Both victims, one 31 years old, and one unknown, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. No suspect has been identified. 

Man stabbed in market

Between 5:45pm and 6:15pm on November 3rd, a 63-year-old man entered a market on the 600 block of Eddy Street (near Larkin) and was confronted by a man said to be in his late 40s.

The younger man accused the victim of having his property and the men got into a verbal argument before the suspect stabbed the victim and fled on foot.

Cops and Basketball tonight

Tenderloin Station is hosting its first Beyond the Badge basketball tournament at 5:00pm today at the Salvation Army Kroc Center at 240 Turk St. The tournament, which includes indoor carnival games, prizes, food, and drinks, is part of the station’s ongoing Cops and Basketball program.
