Woman Abducted, Assaulted In Tenderloin800 block, Market Street. | Photo: Google

On Friday night, a woman was kidnapped and assaulted in the Tenderloin district.

The incident occurred at 8pm on the 800 block of Market Street when a suspect of unknown age approached a 33-year-old woman to let her know "that he had products in his vehicle for sale."

When the victim followed him to his car, he pushed her inside, where two other men were waiting. After driving to an unknown location, the woman attempted to escape, but the suspect who forced her into the car caught up with her before assaulting her with a gun.

The suspects fled the scene, and the victim was transported to a hospital so she could be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
