Two people were robbed at gunpoint in the Inner Richmond last night, police have reported.

The robbery occurred on the 300 block of 15th Avenue between Clement and California streets at 6:45pm when a 57-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were confronted by a man in his twenties who "jumped out in front" of them while they were walking.

The suspect aimed a handgun at the male victim and demanded his money; after he complied, the robber grabbed the woman's purse before running to a waiting vehicle and fleeing the scene with their property, which included currency, credit cards, and their ID.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
