Here's a roundup of notable crimes reported in the Tenderloin since our last edition. All details are drawn from SFPD daily reports, unless otherwise noted.
Woman hospitalized after stabbing
Just before 8:00pm on November 29th, staff of a nearby business saw a 37-year-old woman with a stabbing injury on the 1000 block of Polk Street (near Geary).
The staff called 911 and the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries. No suspect has been identified, and the extent of the victim's injuries are unknown.
Woman’s bike stolen after she refuses sale
A 68-year-old woman was walking her bicycle near the intersection of 6th and Market streets around 1:30am on November 26th when two men approached her.
One man, said to be in his early thirties, offered to buy the woman’s bike. When she refused, the second man, said to be in his early sixties, stepped in front of the woman. The younger man came up behind her, threw her to the ground, hopped on her bike and fled east on Marke Street. The victim gave chase, but the suspect escaped.
Two men attacked by mob of twenty-somethings
Around 1:40am on November 25th, two 26-year-old men were walking out of a night club. One of the men was approached by six to eight men said to be in their twenties.
When the second man told the suspects that the man was with him, they turned on him and assaulted him, possibly with brass knuckles. The other victim tried to intervene and was also attacked. Some of the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle; none of them have been identified.
Man assaulted, robbed, after leaving business
At 7:30pm on November 20th, a 36-year-old man was leaving a business near the intersection of Market and 5th streets when four men approached him, then punched and kicked him until he fell.
The suspects stole the victim’s wallet while he was on the ground and fled in different directions. The man was treated for non-life threatening injuries and no arrest has been made.
Man robbed at gunpoint near Jones and Market
A 28-year-old man walking southbound on Jones Street near the intersection with Market was approached by a man said to be in his thirties, who pointed a gun at him and demanded his property.
The victim handed over his wallet and money, and the suspect, who fled east down Market Street, has not been identified.
Woman robbed at bus stop
Around 8:00pm on November 18th, a 38-year-old woman was at a bus stop near 5th and Market streets when a man said to be in his sixties pushed her from behind and stole her phone. The suspect fled eastbound on Market and has not been identified.
Three-on-one robbery near Union Square
A 31-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Mason and Geary streets around 10:00pm on November 17th when he was approached by three men, one of which demanded he hand over his property. The victim complied and the three suspects fled on foot southbound on Mason.
Man punched, robbed on Ellis Street
A 30-year-old man on the unit block of Ellis Street (near Market) around 8:20pm on November 17th was approached and punched by a man said to be in his forties. The suspect stole the victim’s backpack and fled westbound on Ellis. No arrests have been made.
Man robbed at knifepoint on Turk Street
A 47-year old man was on Turk Street near the intersection with Leavenworth around 2:30pm on November 17th when two men both said to be 29 years-old approached him.
One of the suspects stuck a knife against the victim, asked for money, them reached into the victim’s pocket and stole his cell phone while the second suspect acted as a lookout. Both suspects fled on foot.
