Here's an overview of notable incidents reported around the Castro since our last crime roundup.

All reports come from the police department's daily recaps, unless otherwise noted.

Hot prowler wakes victim

On February 22nd at 3am, an unknown male suspect entered a residence near 15th and Church. As he went through the residence, the suspect opened a door to a 31-year-old male resident's room, waking him.

The suspect then fled the building with a camera, phone, and tablet, belonging to three residents. No arrest was made.

Store robbed at gunpoint

Two robberies at stores close to one another on 17th Street took place within minutes on February 18th.

The first took place near 17th and Diamond at 6:56pm when a 40-year-old man entered a store with a gun and demanded that the clerk, a 27-year-old man, open the cash register. When the victim complied, the suspect grabbed money and fled on foot. No arrest was made and the victim was uninjured.

Duo assault employee, grab cash from register

Minutes later at 7:11pm, a male and female suspect, both approximately 35, entered a store near 17th and Castro and approached a 33-year-old male clerk and cash register.

The male suspect then punched the clerk and stole cash. Both suspects fled on foot. No arrests were made and the victim received non-life threatening injuries, but refused medical transport.

Convenience store robbery ends in struggle

On February 16th at 6:13am, a 50-year-old man walked into a store on 18th between Sanchez and Noe and asked the clerk, a 49-year-old man, for boxes of cigarettes.

When the clerk placed the items on the counter, the suspect then grabbed the boxes and attempted to flee. The clerk and suspect struggled over the items until the suspect was able to eventually flee with the cigarettes. No arrest was made.

Teens arrested after Muni mugging

On February 15th at 8:40pm, three male teenagers, 12-17, stole a laptop from a 42-year-old man on a Muni train near Church and Duboce. When the victim attempted to retrieve his laptop, one of the suspects punched him.

The suspects were arrested, and the victim received injuries but refused medical transport.

Three men assault victim during argument

On February 7th at 1:20am, a 51-year-old man got into a verbal argument with three men, 21-23, near 18th and Noe. The suspects began to fight, resulting in the victim being injured. No arrests were made and the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
