Gas Leak Near Alamo Square Prompts Evacuations [Updated]

[Update: 12:34pm] According to SFFD, the incident has been resolved and the evacuation order has been lifted.

Public safety workers are evacuating residents from the 900 block of Hayes Street near Fillmore due to a broken gas main in the area.

The city's Department of Emergency Management announced the safety measure at 11:38am via Twitter.

According to SFFD, police and firefighters are going door-to-door to evacuate residents and are asking people to avoid the area as Pacific Gas & Electric repairs the leak.
