A verbal disagreement last night in the Excelsior escalated when one participant attacked the other with a pair of scissors, according to police.

After the attack, which took place around 11pm near Mission Street and Brazil Avenue, the suspect, a 60-year-old man, fled the scene, but was arrested a short while later. 

The victim, a 30-year-old woman, sustained life-threatening injuries in the attack, and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
