'Lamoon' Debuts In Elmhurst With Northern Thai CuisinePhoto: Lamoon/Yelp

Looking to chow down on some Thai fare? A new spot has you covered. Called Lamoon, the new addition is located at 8140 Broadway in Elmhurst, Queens.

Housed in a space adorned with colorful graffiti art, the restaurant specializes in cuisine from northern Thailand.

Chef Arada Moonroj, who came to the United States in 2008, helms the kitchen. Lamoon's website explains that her secret recipes come from personal inspiration and "wisdom from her grandparents."

On the menu, look for northern Thai dishes such as ground pork with chili paste, lemongrass and cilantro; fried lemongrass chicken wings; and glass noodles with masala curry and veggies. For more adventurous diners, there is steamed, marinated pork brain with shrimp paste and herbs.

With a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, Lamoon has already made a good impression.

Barbara B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot, said, "Delicious food from northern Thailand! Highly recommend this new restaurant that's opened up in Elmhurst. Check them out, you won't be disappointed!"

And Sasipim P. said, "This is my new favorite northern Thai-style food in NYC! Everything was fresh and tasty. Attentive staff, friendly environment."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Lamoon is open daily, from noon to 4pm and 5pm to midnight.
