Here's a roundup of notable crimes the Tenderloin Station responded to since our last edition. All details are drawn from SFPD's daily reports, unless otherwise noted.

Man arrested after stabbing security guard

Around 2:30pm on March 20th, a 46-year-old male security guard saw a 30-year-old man acting suspiciously in a store on the 1400 block of Market Street (near 10th). 

The guard followed the suspect and was escorting him out of the store when a fight broke out and the suspect cut the guard with a knife. Police arrested the suspect on the scene.

Woman attacked with glass bottle

A 48-year-old woman was visiting an apartment on the unit block of 6th Street (near Market) around 1:00pm on March 20th when a 37-year old woman entered, struck the older woman with a glass bottle and left. The victim knows the suspect, but no arrest has been made. 

Man attacked with metal rod

A man approached and threatened a 48-year-old man near the intersection of Turk and Jones streets around 2:00pm on March 19th. The suspect hit the victim with a metal rod before fleeing on foot. The suspect has not been identified.

Two arrested after man resists robbers

Around 3:21am on March 18th, a 24-year-old man was walking on the 1000 block of Market Street (near Taylor) when two 19-year-old men demanded he hand over his property.

The victim initially complied, but then chased after the two younger men and tried to recover his backpack. Police arrived and arrested the two suspects.

Man robbed at gunpoint in Lower Nob Hill

A 20-year-old man was waiting for a ride on the 700 block of Sutter Street (near Taylor) around 1:00am on March 18th when an unknown male suspect approached him and demanded his property at gunpoint.

The victim handed over his cellphone and wallet, the suspect fled on foot, and no arrest has been made. 

Couple robbed by two suspects

Around 12:04am on March 18th, a 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were confronted by a woman and a man in their twenties near the intersection of Turk and Market streets. 

The woman demanded the victims' property, while the man punched the male victim. The female suspect pushed the female victim to the ground and stole a purse containing credit cards, ID and a cell phone. Both assailants fled the area on foot and have not been identified. 

Man attacked, robbed by four men

A 47-year-old man walking on the 600 block of Eddy Street (near Leavenworth) around 9:30pm on March 17th was attacked by four men in their twenties.

When the victim fell to the ground, the suspects stole his wallet, Social Security card, bank card, ID and medication and fled the scene. No arrests have been made. 

Four suspects rob man in Civic Center

Around 3:35pm on March 17th, a 26-year-old man was approached by four men said to be in their twenties in the Civic Center area. One suspect punched the victim, who was knocked down, but got back up again.

The suspects stole the victim’s wallet containing his ID, credit cards, and cash before fleeing in an unknown direction. The suspects have not been identified.  

Man loses two cell phones to robbers

A 35-year-old man was holding his cell phone and walking near the intersection of Larkin Street and Golden Gate Avenue around 9:24pm on March 12th when two men approached him.

One suspect put a knife against the victim and demanded his phone, while the second man stole a second phone from the victim’s pants pocket. The suspects have not been identified.

Bicyclist robs man of cellphone

Around 3:00pm on March 12th, a man riding a bicycle came up to a 27-year-old man from behind and grabbed his cellphone near the intersection of O’Farrell and Jones streets. The victim tried to keep the device, but the suspect was able to steal it and flee the scene. No arrest has been made.

Two men attack, stab man with glass bottle

A 23-year-old man was stabbed by two other men with a glass bottle around midnight on March 12th near the intersection of Market and Taylor streets. The victims was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
