Spice Room is an Indian, Himalayan/Nepalese and vegetarian spot in Northwest Denver that specializes in using thousands of different herbs and spices — each with medicinal qualities — to enhance its food.

The team at Spice Room, led by head chef Ashok Raj Joshi, combines the spices and flavors to recreate authentic Indian and Nepali family recipes. The menu offers an array of traditional dishes for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans alike, including samosas, chicken tikka masala and saag paneer.

Yelp users are excited about Spice Room, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of 16 reviews on the site.

Andrew C., the first Yelper to review this new spot, raved: "Hands down the best Indian I've had in Denver."

And Jason S. added: "I have been to India several times, and Spice Room shares delightful flavors [from] the delicious, authentic cuisine I have come to love. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly."

Spice Room is open from 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.

Over at the 16th Street Mall, the team behind Hapa Sushi has now opened Motomaki, a spot that specializes in sushi and salads, The Know reports.

Menu items include customizable salads such as Fuji apple blue and sunomono, a chilled cucumber salad with carrots, onions and a sweet rice wine vinaigrette. Customers can also choose from seven different add-on items, including marinated tofu, seared ahi and salmon poke.

Need a little pick-me-up? Come by during happy hour, when Motomaki serves a variety of Japanese beers, as well as hot and cold sake. (The regular and happy hour menus are available here.)

Motomaki's current rating of four stars out of 15 reviews on Yelp indicates that the newcomer is finding its way, but it's still early days.

Adriana C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 10th, said: "This place is life-changing. The last thing I needed was another poke place to tempt me. They have been popping up all over downtown, but this one sticks out. Great customer service!"

And Grecia P. said: "This location is super easy to find and there is tons of seating. Their menu is huge and vegetarian friendly!"

Motomaki is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.

Superfood Bar is a health-conscious vegan spot hailing from New Orleans, offering cold-pressed juices, smoothies and gluten-free wraps.

The 100 percent raw food salads offer unusual flavor combinations for the daring. Look for the spicy red cabbage kimchi (made in-house) over mixed greens, served with green apple, avocado and an ume plum/chia seed dressing.

Craving something sweet and refreshing with a healthy dose of nutrients? Try the green avocado smoothie with mango, dates, coconut kefir citrus and green granola. If you're in the mood for a (healthy) shot, look for the super immune booster.

Superfood Bar's current rating of 4.5 stars out of 14 reviews on Yelp indicates positive attention from users.

Yelper Meagan N., who reviewed Superfood Bar on March 11, wrote: "There is no place like Superfood Bar. Nowhere else in Denver is 100 percent organic and vegan and gluten free."

Yelper David B. wrote: "This place is hands down the best! The prices are on point and there is truly not a better place for juice/smoothies, soups and more. Such a great addition to the Denver health food scene."
