Laura Veirs at Fremont Abbey Arts Center

Singer-songwriter Laura Veirs takes the stage this Thursday night at Fremont Abbey Arts Center. With 10 solo albums under her belt, the Portland-based folk rocker is known for her crisp, alternative country sound.

Opening for Veirs will be The Hackles, an up-and-coming folky duo from Astoria, Oregon. 

If you're keen on seeing Veirs, don't delay: her second show at Fremont Abbey, on Friday, is already sold out.

Michael Jackson tribute at Columbia City Theater

Pay homage to the King of Pop with Michael Jackson impersonator Danny Dash Andrews. The all-ages, high-energy show takes audiences on a whirlwind journey that spans Jackson's four-decade career, with state-of-the-art lighting and sound that capture the essence of Jackson's acclaimed live concerts. 

When: Friday, May 18, 8-10 p.m.

Poor Man's Whiskey at Nectar Lounge

If you love classic bluegrass rockers The Band, you'll want to see tribute group Poor Man's Whiskey hit the stage at Nectar Lounge this Saturday night. Expect to hear all The Band's biggest hits, plus a second set of original NorCal hoedowns and a performance by up-and-coming special guests The Scott Pemberton Band.

When: Saturday, May 19, 8 p.m.- Sunday, May 20, 2 a.m.

The Emerald Ensemble at the new Nordic Museum

Catch the Emerald Ensemble's final concert of the year at the brand new Nordic Museum in Ballard. With some of the Seattle area's finest voices, the professional ensemble will showcase the choral music that's long been a staple of Finnish culture.

This season's farewell concert will feature music by Jean Sibelius, including Finlandia, his beloved hymn to Finland. It will also spotlight the works of 20th century composers Einojuhani Rautavaara, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi and more.

When: Sunday, May 20, 4-5:30 p.m.
