Original music inspired by 'The Handmaid’s Tale' at Fremont Abbey Arts Center

Join the Bushwick Book Club and Town Hall Seattle for a evening of original music inspired by Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel "The Handmaid’s Tale." The book — written in 1985 and thrust back into the limelight by a modern television series — centers around misogyny, patriarchy and individual expression in a near-future society.

Performers will include Kristin Chambers, Olivia Claire, Annie Ford, Jaspar Lepak, Debbie Miller, Nottingham/Wicks, Moe Provencher, Megan Krantz and Tom Rorem.

Talking Heads '80s dance party at Nectar Lounge

Relive the magic of the Talking Heads when LDW hits the stage at Nectar Lounge this Saturday night. Fans of the legendary band flock to LDW shows for their exuberant interpretations, as well as the original music, improvisation, choreography and random experiences they deliver at every show.

DJ Indica Jones will also be on hand, spinning your favorite '80s jams.

Dubai's DJ Shadow with DJ Kazan

Experience the best of Bollywood with Dubai's superstar disc jockey, DJ Shadow, at Hard Rock Cafe this Saturday night. His latest hit with Badshah and Sean Paul scored millions of views on YouTube, as do his Bollywood mixes.

DJ Kazan — a pioneering Southeast Asian DJ from North America, who's worked with the likes of Pitbull, Jay Sean and the Black Eyed Peas — will also be on hand with his own mixes of Bollywood, EDM, hip-hop and top 40 hits.

Tomorrows Bad Seeds at Nectar Lounge

SoCal reggae band Tomorrows Bad Seeds makes a stop in Seattle this Sunday night. 

With its balanced mix of reggae, rock and pop, the band has become known as on of the “leaders of the new school." Since the group’s inception, it's shared the stage with UB40, 311, Pennywise, Smashing Pumpkins, The Wailers and Fishbone, and played at major shows like Warped Tour.
