Looking to reinvent your look? A new hair salon in Shaw, near the U Street Corridor, is here to help.

Located at 1924 Eighth St. NW, Suite 145, and Florida Avenue, The Shop at Shaw comes courtesy of stylist Jamie Lynn. The new salon says it offers transparent pricing to help clients budget for services and plan more frequent visits, resulting in healthier, more polished hair, per its website.

Services include genderless cuts with pricing based on hair length, coloring, deep conditioning and retexturizing treatments like the Brazilian Blowout. Clients can spend as little as $20 for a conditioning treatment or as much as $400 to turn their long hair platinum blond.

And for those trying to squeeze a visit into a hectic schedule, the salon also allows patrons to relax with a beverage or continue working on their laptops during appointments.

So far, the salon has two five-star reviews on Yelp.

Liz C., who reviewed the new spot on April 29, said, "I was nervous because I am very particular about my hair, but (Adriana) killed it. She turned my very dark hair totally blond in one treatment. I got some subtle pink highlights and a nice shaved design on the back of my head. I walked out feeling like a different person!"

Yelper Carla C. added, “I left the shop looking like a million bucks. The staff, products and environment are better than any salon in DC."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. The Shop at Shaw is open from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.–6:30 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Monday and Sunday.)
