A new combination burger joint and juice bar has opened for business in the neighborhood. Dearborn-based Brome Modern Eatery, the project of founder Sam Abbas, has opened a second location at 607 Shelby St. in downtown Detroit with the focus on grass-fed, non-GMO beef and healthy sides.

On the menu, customers can expect burgers like the Dante's Heaven, with  turkey bacon, ghost pepper jack cheese, braised onion, cherry pepper relish and sweet habanero. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, and there are plenty of milkshake choices and sides like the sweet potato puffs or the Farmer's Market salad.

As for the Balence juice bar, its offerings include the Pina Kale-ata, with kale, pineapple, avocado, Granny Smith apples, spinach, kiwi and coconut water. (You can check out the full menu here and the juice bar menu here.)

With just one review on Yelp thus far, Brome Modern Eatery currently has a five-star rating.

Nicholas M., who reviewed the new spot on May 18, said, "The European Cookie Butter Shake is probably the best one I've ever had, anywhere. Fries and burgers are delicious too! The staff is super friendly too, attentive at the counter and on the floor of the restaurant."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Brome Modern Eatery is open from 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sunday. The Balence juice bar opens earlier each day (8 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends) but closes at the same time.
