Do you love the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries? Then you're going to want to know about the newest bakeries in Dallas. The next time you're craving some freshly baked goods, head to one of these new spots, where you can have your cake and eat it too.

Dulcet Cafe & Bakery

320 Singleton Blvd., Suite 190, Trinity Groves

Dulcet Cafe & Bakery is serving up sandwiches, pastries, breads and pour-over coffee. The airy, modern cafe's baked goods include muffins, croissants, cakes and cookies.

With a 4.5-star Yelp rating out of nine reviews, Dulcet Cafe & Bakery has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Mackenzie C., who reviewed it on May 28, wrote, "The staff was outstanding and made my morning so wonderful. The staff is so gracious and knowledgeable about their coffee and baked goods. It was a true treat getting to spend my morning here."

Tailim S. added, "The very best coffee! They use the most premium coffee. The bakery and deserts are delicious. Everything there is so good!"

Dulcet Cafe & Bakery is open from 6:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday, 7 a.m.–11 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.

Papa Yun's Donuts

Papa Yun's Donuts is a bakery, offering doughnuts, baked goods, coffee and tea. It's the second location for the business, which has a storefront in Fort Worth.

It features a variety of doughnuts, including cake, fancy and filled options. You can also find cinnamon rolls, bear claws, apple fritters, breakfast items and caffeinated drinks on the menu. 

With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, the bakery seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Phi H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 29, said, "If you're craving sweet or savory, they have a large selection to help your tastebuds fall in love with breakfast. The plain glazed doughnuts are subtly sweet and fluffy. Melts in your mouth with every bite."

And Daniel H. said, "This place is awesome! Great selection, tastes amazing and quick service! They've got everything from plain to fancy doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, and klobásníks."

Cakettes

Cakettes specializes in its signature cakettes, miniature cakes that are available in a range of core and seasonal flavors.

Flavors include red velvet (blended with cream cheese frosting, then coated in vanilla and decorated with a red rose), the peanut butter (yellow cake with crunchy peanut butter, Reese's topping and vanilla) and the maple bacon (with a piggy decoration on top). (See the lineup of cakettes here.)

Besides cakettes, look for a  breakfast and lunch menu complete with coffee, tea, specialty drinks, breakfast sandwiches, toasted ciabatta sandwiches, soups and more.

Cakettes is off to a strong start with a current rating of five stars out of three reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Zoe R., who visited on June 22, wrote, "I love this place! ... Their main food, the cakettes, are awesome. They're small, but incredible. They're moist, have cute designs and there are tons of different flavors."

Yelper Elizabeth O. wrote, "Amazing! My friends and family cannot get enough. With rotating seasonal flavors and consistently delicious core flavors, Cakettes can't be beat for everyday or special occasions!"

Cakettes is open from 7 a.m.–6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
