A new spot to score bubble tea has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Ding Tea, the new arrival is located at 4725 University Way N.E., in the University District.

Ding Tea is an international chain specializing in bubble tea and other tea drinks. According to its website, Ding prides itself on offering teas made with "carefully selected tea leaves originating from high-altitude tea gardens surrounding the central mountain range in Taiwan."

The University District location is the first in Seattle for Ding Tea, which also has an outpost in Renton and several locations throughout the state of California. On the menu, you'll find hot and iced teas in flavors ranging from chocolate to peach to taro, available with boba or without.

Ding Tea Seattle has gotten good reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.

Chloe N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 13, said, "First experience was good. I really can feel the 'tea' in my jasmine green tea latte with sea cream, not like other stores — too sugary."

And Jasmin C. said, "New boba joint? I'm there. Seattle is just barely getting into the boba game, and I'm glad more and more places are opening up in the area."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Ding Tea Seattle is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
