Here are some notable incidents that have taken place since our last biweekly recap covering SFPD's Central District, which encompasses Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach, and Union Square. 

Unless otherwise noted, all reports are drawn from the department's daily summary.

Embarcadero hit-and-run injures pedal cab driver, family of 4

Police are seeking the driver of a car that struck a pedal cab carrying a family of four along the Embarcadero Wednesday around 4:14 p.m. before fleeing the scene. After causing the pedal cab to collide with another bicycle taxi, the suspect drove away towards the Bay Bridge. 

A 66-year-old male cab driver was transported to an area hospital in life-threatening condition, and the other pedal cab driver was unharmed. The family of four, who were passengers in both cabs, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The incident was captured on video by a Muni bus; police are seeking the driver of a four-door gold Honda Civic sedan.

Two suspects rob woman at gunpoint

On June 28 at 4:30 a.m. on the 600 block of Filbert Street in North Beach, a 25-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint. 

According to police, two unknown male suspects pulled up next to the woman in a unknown car. One of the suspects got out of the vehicle and brandished a handgun. He then took the victim's backpack, identification, cellphone, credit cards and a key before the pair fled the scene in the car. No injuries were reported. 

Man pushed to the ground and robbed

A 56-year-old man was robbed by three unknown male suspects on June 25 at 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Eddy and Cyril Magnin Streets near Powell Street south of Union Square. 

The three suspects approached the victim and shoved him to the ground. One of the suspects took the victim's cellphone before all three fled the scene. 

No injuries were reported in the incident. 

Teen who grabs cell phone restrained, arrested 

At 1:36 p.m. on June 24 near the corner of Taylor and Geary Streets in Lower Nob Hill, a 16-year-old male suspect was arrested for robbery. 

According to police, a 26-year-old man was taking a photo with his cell phone when the teen snatched the phone and ran. The victim and his girlfriend chased the suspect and restrained him until officers arrived and took him into custody. 

Hot prowler breaks into garage, takes items from unlocked  car

A hot prowl burglary was reported on the 1900 block of Mason Street in Russian Hill at 3 a.m. on June 23. 

A 57-year-old woman was at home when she heard her garage door opening. When she went to investigate, she found that her unlocked car in the garage had been rummaged through and a pair of sunglasses and cash were missing. 

Car thief thwarted after confrontation with owner

On June 22 at 3 a.m. near the intersection of Stockton and O'Farrell Streets a 30-year-old male suspect attempted to steal a 53-year-old man's car. 

The victim saw the suspect attempting to steal his vehicle and confronted him. After an altercation ensued, the victim recovered his car and the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. 

Man punched by teen during conversation with group

A 49-year-old man was assaulted by a teen near the corner of Powell and Geary Streets in Union Square on June 21 just before 7 p.m.

The victim was talking to a group of people when the suspect punched him forcing him to the ground. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. 

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. 

Teen purse snatcher arrested

On June 21 at 5:47 a.m. on the 100 block of Drumm Street in the FiDi, a 49-year-old woman was robbed by an 18-year-old man. 

The victim was walking when she was approached from behind by the suspect, who then grabbed her purse and took her cash. The suspect walked away from the scene, but was later identified and taken into custody by police. 

Woman kidnapped at gunpoint

A 21-year-old woman was abducted by a male suspect 30 to 40 years-old on June 20 at 4:30 p.m. near the corner of Bay and Kearny Street in the Embarcadero. 

According to police, the victim was walking home when the suspect got out of a parked car and threatened her life if she didn't come with him. When she backed away, he repeated the threat and brandished a gun.

After she complied and got into the car, the suspect drove off, but when his phone  "started to buzz," he stopped the car and the victim escaped before running home. 

No injuries or arrests were reported in the incident. 

Three teen girls arrested after robbery by force

Near the Powell Street cable car turnaround on June 20 at 12:25 p.m., two women, 40 and 44, were robbed by three teenaged girls. 

The two victims were taking photos with cellphones when one of the suspects approached and snatches one of the victim's mobile device. A physical struggle ensued and the two remaining suspects join the fight. All three suspects then fled the scene with both of the victim's cell phones, but were apprehended and taken into custody by police officers in the area. 

One of the victims suffered minor injuries to her face but was not transported for treatment.
