Here are some notable incidents that have taken place since our last biweekly recap covering SFPD's Central District, which encompasses Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach, and Union Square. 

Unless otherwise noted, all reports are drawn from the department's daily summary.

Man injured during early morning robbery

On June 14 at 4:50 a.m. near the intersection of Sutter and Powell Streets in Lower Nob Hill, a 68-year-old man was robbed by an unknown male suspect. 

According to police, the suspect approached the victim from behind and pushed him to the ground. He then snatched his cellphone and wallet from his pockets and fled the scene in an unknown direction. 

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. 

Three suspects attack victim near Union Square

On Post and Powell Streets on June 13 at 1 a.m., three men between the ages of 18 and 25 robbed a 34-year-old man. 

The victim was walking when he was approached by the suspects who demanded his cash. When the victim refused, the suspects assaulted him and stole his wallet. 

The victim was transported a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Teen robbed at bus stop

On the edge of Fisherman's Wharf on the 800 block of North Point Street on June 12 at 1 a.m., a 17-year-old boy was robbed by three male suspects in their twenties, according to police. 

The victim was sitting at a bus stop when the suspects drove up in an unknown vehicle, got out and snatched his backpack and cellphones before fleeing the scene. 

In the incident, the victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. 

Teen mob robs Union Street store

On June 11 at 1:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Stockton Street in Union Square, fifteen teenaged boys stormed into a retail shop and and stole sunglasses before fleeing the scene. 

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. 

Suspect arrested in homicide

A 31-year-old man was arrested for an alleged homicide on June 10 at 12:21 a.m. near the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Lombard Street. 

According to police, the suspect was involved in an incident on June 7 causing injury to an 85-year-old man. The victim was later pronounced deceased at a hospital. 

Police respond to calls of shots fired

In North Beach on the 400 block of Francisco Street June 10 at 5:02 a.m., police responded to a call of shots fired. 

Units located spent shell casings at the scene, however, no witnesses were present. Additionally, no victims or property damage was reported. 

Altercation leads to suspect's arrest

On the 600 block of Pacific Avenue in Chinatown on June 9 at 8:12 p.m., an alleged aggravated assault occurred. 

A 62-year-old man reportedly got into a fight with a 32-year-old male suspect who struck him with a chair. Police responded to the scene and took the suspect into custody. 

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. 

Robber steals laptop inside cafe

On June 9 at 3:26 p.m. on the 2200 block of Mason Street in North Beach, a robbery occurred inside a coffee shop. 

A 28-year-old woman was in a cafe when an unknown suspect in his twenties shoved her and snatched her laptop. The suspect then got into an unknown car and fled the scene with a second suspect. 

No injuries were reported in the incident.
