Looking to try the best coffee roasteries in town?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top spots for freshly brewed coffee in New Orleans, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to fill the bill.

1. Stumptown Coffee Roasters

Topping the list is Stumptown Coffee Roasters at 610 Carondelet St. in the Warehouse District. The shop is the highest rated coffee roaster in New Orleans, boasting 4.5 stars out of 75 reviews on Yelp. 

Based in Portland, Oregon, this coffee shop in the lobby of the Ace Hotel boasts six outposts in its hometown plus locations in Seattle, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. The establishment specializes in pour-over drip-style coffee, but look for an assortment of beans by the pound, tea and a selection of specialty coffee makers for the caffeine enthusiast. 

2. Coast Roast Coffee & Tea

Next up is St. Roch's Coast Roast Coffee & Tea, situated at 2381 St. Claude Ave. With five stars out of 18 reviews on Yelp, the coffee roastery has proven to be a local favorite.

With an alternate location on Magazine Street and more branches in Gulfport and Long Beach, Mississippi — this roaster offers blends like the medium-roast Sunrise, the medium-dark espresso and the dark French roast. The shop also features a selection of coffee varieties from Asia, Africa, and Central and South America.

3. Congregation Coffee

Congregation Coffee, located at 240 Pelican Ave. in Algiers Point, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the coffee roastery 4.5 stars out of 36 reviews.

"Great coffee and pastries in a cozy and functional space run by great people," Yelper Vlad G. said. "Simple touches like a blackboard and kids' seating area show the attention to detail present in everything these people do. They are more than happy to show you the intricacies of their roasting machine, and the resulting espresso drinks and brewed coffee are simply amazing."
