Interested in trying some new Japanese spots in Miami? You're in luck: we've found the freshest businesses to fill the bill. Here are the newest places to check out the next time you're in the mood for Japanese food.

Novikov

Novikov is a Japanese restaurant with locations around the globe, including London, Moscow and Dubai. Just as cosmopolitan is its menu, which offers the traditional Japanese maki dishes as well as premium sushi inspired by Portugal and Spain. 

Look for the shiitake teriyaki hand rolls and white miso soup. Novikov gets its seafood sourced from all over the world and delivered daily, according to its website. Therefore, some items have limited availability. (The full menu can be found here.)

Novikov currently holds four stars out of 15 reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper Luis A. wrote, "One word: phenomenal. It serves Japanese seafood cuisine, just like its sister Novikov restaurant in Moscow. The ambiance: hipster,  elegant. Even the bathroom was beautiful."

Sushi 4 Fun

Sushi 4 Fun is a fusion sushi bar with a sister spot in Fort Lauderdale. The restaurant offers a self-serve concept that guarantees that visitors never have to pay for more than they eat, per its website.

Its menu includes sushi rolls stuffed with strawberry, mango and avocado, salmon and cream cheese, and tuna and sushi rice. Want a salad? Try the seaweed salad and tuna tataki.

Sushi 4 Fun's current Yelp rating of 4.5 stars out of two reviews indicates positive feedback. 

Yelper Luis C. wrote, "It's brand new and I've already visited over eight times. The quality of the products is amazing and the price is very affordable. The variety is awesome and the staff and owner are all very friendly."

Gloria A. noted, "Pretty cool concept, think sushi buffet with fresh, constantly replenished goodies. The spring rolls are a must try! They have chicken, shrimp, beef and dulce de leche for dessert."

Sushiato

Sushiato puts its own twist on sushi, incorporating Latin fusion and tropical flavors. The sushi bar has a second location in Weston. 

Start with crab croquettes with curry mustard sauce, then move on to miso soup. The sashimi dish is served with salmon, tuna and hamachi, green salad and avocado. 

With a 4.5-star Yelp rating out of 17 reviews on Yelp, Sushiato has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Mark A., who visited the sushi bar on May 25, wrote, "They strive to provide a consistently positive experience and innovate by trying new ideas and listening to their customers. They have been around for going on 20 years and are very involved in the day to day, hands-on owners, which is nice to see."

Alejandro E. noted, "This place has great service, exquisite dishes and a chill vibe. Highly recommend. Get the Sushiato Salad."

Sushiato is open from 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m. from Monday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m.–11:30 p.m. on Friday, 12:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1–9 p.m. on Sunday.

Hibachi Grill & Noodle Bar

The fast-casual Hibachi Grill & Noodle Bar is a chain that offers a mix of Japanese and Thai dishes.

Menu items include chicken lettuce wraps and stir-fried noodles with tofu. Feeling carnivorous? Check out the express, served with steak, shrimp and chicken.

With a 3.5-star rating out of 19 reviews on Yelp, Hibachi Grill & Noodle Bar is still finding its way, but it's early days.

Yelper Elissa M. wrote, "Kudos to the owner and management for keeping it real. They use all non-GMO products, and their food is prepared with just enough oil to cook the food perfectly. We ordered takeout, and after devouring everything, the bottom of the takeout containers were nearly dry."

Yelper Arthur U. wrote, "The staff was friendly and inviting. Food was made quickly and hot when it came time to eat. Good flavor in the noodles and great presentation."

Hibachi Grill & Noodle Bar is open from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. from Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.

Wabi Sabi By Shuji

Wabi Sabi By Shuji is serving up freshly made bowls that can be customized with traditional sushi rice, a multigrain option, chasoba or green mix.

Try the Wabi Sabi, made with tuna, salmon, lump crab, tobiko, cucumber, avocado, seaweed and shiitake mushroom. Finish off your bowl with one of the following sauces: wasabi soy, sesame ginger, spicy mayo or spicy sesame soy.

Yelpers are excited about Wabi Sabi By Shuji, which currently holds five stars out of 36 reviews on the site.

Ken D. wrote, "I ordered the Wabi Sabi bowl with chasoba (buckwheat infused with green tea) noodles as a base. It was perfect. If what you want is to visit a hidden gem with beautiful food and energy, Wabi Sabi By Shuji will not disappoint."

Linda M. noted, "Aesthetically pleasing spot with really good food. The salmon and veggie bowl both were great. I would ask for a touch more salmon."
