A San Francisco police officer riding a motorcycle yesterday morning in Potrero Hill suffered serious injuries in a vehicle collision.

The incident occurred around 9:37 a.m. near Mariposa Street and Pennsylvania Avenue when the officer, a 12-year veteran of the force, collided with a passenger vehicle. The driver, a 35-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

According to police, the injured officer was hospitalized in life-threatening condition and is accompanied by his family and friends. At the moment, no additional information about his condition is available.
