Shoot for the stars: New Hollywood Park Hong Kong-style café Star KTV Lounge opens its doorsPhoto: Ceci L./Yelp

A new Hong Kong-style café and karaoke spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 4543 Freeport Blvd. in Hollywood Park, the newcomer is called Star KTV Lounge

Diners check different boxes on the food menu to order Hong Kong-style bites like shredded duck fried udon and bitter melon beef over rice. An outpost of Taiwanese bubble tea chain iTea, connected inside the building, provides sweet drinks in flavors like fresh taro milk tea and honey aloe green tea.

The karaoke rooms are rented by the hour, with discounts for off-peak hours, seniors and children, and guests celebrating a birthday.

With a 3.5-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival is still finding its feet, but it's early days.

"Service is very attentive - servers speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English fluently," wrote Terren W., who praised the food in the cafe's first review on May 27. "There is also free WiFi and hanging out seemed to be encouraged."

But Yelper Joyce G. expressed concerns about the lack of parking and added, "Overall, Star KTV still has lots to improve. I don't know if I will go back for the food anytime soon. ... If I do, it will be for the milk tea at iTea."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Star KTV Lounge is open from 11 a.m.–2 a.m. daily.
