Three men followed a man off a Muni bus in the Portola district on Friday night before initiating a violent assault and robbery that left the victim hospitalized.

The incident took place around 10:50 p.m. near Silver and San Bruno avenues when the suspects, who were in their twenties, followed a 20-year-old man as he got off a bus, aimed a gun at him, and ordered him to hand over his money.

Police reported that one of the suspects pistol-whipped the victim before all three began kicking and punching him, causing him to lose consciousness. Once he was incapacitated, the suspects stole his cash and fled the scene.

The victim was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition; no arrests have been made in the case.
