If you're interested in getting fit, consider dropping into one of these new Seattle fitness spots. Here are the newest places to check out the next time you're in search of a great workout.

Move2Center Studio

Move2Center is a fitness studio centered on the Nia technique, which combines elements of martial arts (tai chi, tae kwon do, aikido), dance (modern, jazz, Duncan dance) and relaxation techniques (including yoga, Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais). Billing itself as "joy-based fitness for people who dislike working out," it welcomes people of all shapes and sizes, with an emphasis on body positivity.

Move2Center has just one Yelp review so far, which awards it five stars.

Yelper Lisa B., who reviewed Move2Center on May 14, wrote, "Step inside the side door of this ordinary building and you will enter a world of joyful, healing movement for all ages, genders, fitness levels and body types. Move2Center is a warm, welcoming studio that specializes in the Nia technique."

Pilates ProWorks

Pilates ProWorks' new South Lake Union studio is the first in Seattle for the international Pilates chain, which has outposts around the globe. Its classes are centered on the fundamentals of Pilates with a modern, innovative twist, using a custom-built "FitFormer."

Pilates ProWorks's current Yelp rating of five stars out of four reviews indicates positive attention from users.

Yelper Alexandra K. noted, "I was so excited to find out Pilates ProWorks opened in seattle! I was a big fan in SF and the experience at this studio was equally as enjoyable. The studio is clean, airy and open."

Yelper Kathleen L. wrote, "This is a great new studio. Finally, PPW comes to Seattle! So far I've had three different instructors and all of them were really good — very helpful with adjustments and suggestions."

Pilates ProWorks is open from 6 a.m.–7 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m.–6 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m.–11 a.m. on weekends.

MH Fitness

MH Fitness is a personal training studio owned by NASM CPT and SFSEnhanceFitness master trainer Mike Harms. It's focused on small-group training sessions that emphasize strength and conditioning with circuit workouts in a "challenging but supportive atmosphere." Harms and his staff also offer one-on-one personal training. 

MH Fitness currently holds five stars out of five reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper Jerry W., who was one of the first users to visit MH Fitness on May 26, wrote, "Mike is very enjoyable to work with. We have been working with him for several weeks, and it is both challenging and satisfying. As a person, Mike is always welcoming, positive and encouraging."

Yelper Pamela B. wrote, "Mike's positive attitude and energy makes him really fun to be around, even as he's making you do burpees and battle ropes and all manner of unpleasant things."

MH Fitness is open from 5 a.m.–9 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m.–5 p.m. on weekends.

SoulCycle South Lake Union

SoulCycle South Lake Union is the latest Seattle location for the popular spinning studio, which has outposts around the country. It specializes in high-intensity cycling classes held in the dark, with candlelit instructors offering motivational platitudes to high-volume music. 

SoulCycle South Lake Union currently holds 3.5 stars out of 10 reviews on Yelp, indicating fair reviews.

Yelper Frankie K., who reviewed SoulCycle South Lake Union on June 11, wrote, "Thrilled the SLU location is finally open and I don't have to make trips across the bridge to Bellevue to get a good workout. Great location; centralized enough in Seattle to make it convenient."

Kate A. noted, "This was one of my first cycle classes, except for an occasional spin class at my regular gym which is free. I really loved the vibe they set with the dark candlelit room and loud music — it helps you to feel more comfortable and get in the zone."

SoulCycle South Lake Union is open from 5 a.m.-8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5 a.m.-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sundays.
