Wondering where to find the best gastropubs near you?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top-rated gastropubs in Fort Lauderdale, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture for booze and bites.

1. The Foxy Brown

Topping the list is The Foxy Brown. It's known locally for its weekend brunch, which offers up such indulgent choices as doughnut holes with milk, hanger steak hash with chimichurri hollandaise and bananas Foster pancakes, alongside a breakfast bar of sake bloody marys and boozy shakes.

Dinner and lunch feature brats with sauerkraut and shallot jam in a pretzel bun and the dry-rubbed cast-iron steak. There is a generous amount of outdoor seating. Located at 723 E. Broward Blvd., it boasts 4.5 stars out of 1,002 reviews on Yelp.

2. Riverside Market

Next up is Riverside Market, situated at 608 S.W. 12th Ave. Noted for its honor system for canned and bottled beer — pull them from the coolers and keep your own tab — there is also a large selection of craft beer on tap that employees are happy to pour for you.

The food menu is heavy on meaty sandwiches, thin-crust pizza and salads, with noteworthy offerings like the Caprese hoagie and the housemade shrimp and crab salad. With 4.5 stars out of 632 reviews on Yelp, the dog-friendly business has proven to be a local favorite.

3. Tap 42

Tap 42, located at 1411 S. Andrews Ave., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bar, gastropub and breakfast and brunch spot four stars out of 1,359 reviews. The beer list is extensive, with an emphasis on Belgian, wheat and IPA beers.

Entrees include grilled Gulf snapper, flame-grilled filet mignon and the Prohibition Burger, with white cheddar, applewood bacon and Dijon mayonnaise. The weekends attract large crowds, perhaps because of the bottomless mimosas.

4. Royal Pig Pub

Royal Pig Pub, a New American spot downtown, is another go-to, with four stars out of 761 Yelp reviews. The establishment serves a variety of upscale pub grub, like pulled pork nachos, a mahi mahi club sandwich and beef tenderloin with homemade Worcestershire sauce.

A number of craft beers are on offer, as well as signature cocktails like the Briar Patch, with Bulleit bourbon, blackberry preserves, maple syrup, mint and fresh squeezed lemon. Head over to 350 E. Las Olas Blvd. to see for yourself.

5. Bar Red Beard

Named for bearded general manager Mike Marchetti, this Galt Mile gastropub is known for its scratch-made menu items like tater tots, beef jerky and meatballs. The list of brews is long and includes a number of sour beers and cider. You can find the pub at 3301 N.E. 33rd St.
