Doughnut shop Raised Doughnuts specializes in both classic varieties like apple fritters and maple bars, and quirky flavors like ube coconut and black sesame.

Raised Doughnuts's current Yelp rating of 4.5 stars out of 10 reviews indicates positive attention from users.

Yelper Don K., who reviewed Raised Doughnuts on July 7, wrote, "The raised donuts are very good. But when did donut prices go so high? It's been a while since my last donut, but maybe it's just a Seattle growth effect? They had some unique flavors. Blueberry basil is probably my favorite. Subtle and complementary. The apple fritter was good too."

Yelper Vivian H. wrote, "These are way, way, WAAAAY better than the donuts at the newly opened Seattle Freeze. My favorite was definitely the strawberry donut with freeze-dried strawberry. I loved that tart flavor. I thought all the flavors were great and everything tasted real and not artificial."

Raised Doughnuts is open from 7 a.m.–2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekends. (It's closed on Wednesday.)

Mr Saigon Banh Mi

734 12th Ave.

As its name suggests, Mr Saigon Banh Mi is all about banh mi, Vietnamese sandwiches served on a crusty roll. The shop bakes all its bread in-house, stuffing it with combinations like the Little Saigon: grilled pork, pickled carrots, daikon, cilantro, cucumber, jalapenos, hoisin and sriracha sauce. Fresh Vietnamese spring rolls and Vietnamese coffee are also on offer.

Yelp users are excited about Mr Saigon, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of 24 reviews on the site.

Yelper Tuan V., who reviewed it on July 7, wrote, "I'm Vietnamese and I approve [of] these banh mis. MM! Bread is on point, with just enough crunch and fluff. Generous and flavorful fillings. It's rich, ya'll. At $5.50, it's a deal I can get behind."

Gregory P. noted, "Damn delicious banh mi (the 'Mr. Saigon' is my fave) served by very friendly people and at a great price. Winner! This new spot is well worth a visit, or two, or three."

Mr Saigon Banh Mi is open from 10 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m.–7 p.m. on Sunday.

Aloha Cup Bap

722 12th Ave.

Unlike the build-your-own poke bowl spots that have proliferated throughout Seattle, Aloha Cup Bap takes a Hawaiian approach: combinations of fish and sauces are pre-marinated, and diners can choose a few scoops to add to their rice or salad bowl alongside vegetables.

This casual restaurant also offers sushi hand rolls and bento combo boxes with non-seafood dishes like Hawaiian beef stew or kalua pork.

Aloha Cup Bap currently holds four stars out of 48 reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper Samantha G., who reviewed Aloha Cup Bap on July 7, wrote, "Praise the lord that a legit poke spot opened up in First Hill! Seattle's poke craze has been ridiculous the past couple of years."

Yelper Sandra N. wrote, "This place is SO nice ... the people are adorable. The owner actually made my bowl, and he took so much care creating it. He even let me sample the fish so I would know what kind I wanted."

Aloha Cup Bap is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 3 p.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday.

Med Mix

Five years after its 23rd and Union location was destroyed in a fire, Mediterranean spot Med Mix has returned to business. As with its previous location, the menu is packed with classic Mediterranean dishes like gyros, falafel, eggplant sandwiches and baklava. Dishes can be enjoyed as a sandwich, salad or plate with pita and dips.

Yelp users are excited about Med Mix, which currently holds five stars out of 38 reviews on the site.

Yelper Eric R., who reviewed Med Mix on April 4, wrote, "Small hole-in-the-wall GEM! Great service, nice music, amazing food. I got the gyro plate with rice for lunch. I thought the price was a little high, but when I saw my plate, it felt justified!"

Natalie G. noted, "This place is so good! The only thing that was a little disappointing was their hummus — needs a little more flavor. Their gyro plate was yummy and a lot of food, so was perfect to share with my son."

Med Mix is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
